We visited San Diego mainly for Legoland and fish tacos. My husband raved about this Japanese restaurant in Encinitas, California, 45 mins from where we were staying. Kaito Sushi didn’t disappoint for that long car ride there. That is like a road trip for Vancouverites. We barely drive more than 20 mins to get anywhere in the city. One of the dishes we had was this beautiful uni, sea urchin that tastes completely different from the ones we get off the coast of British Columbia. It was very fresh. I would suggest the chef’s omakase from Chef Morita San and sit at the bar. We had a kid with us so we sat at a table. Don’t forget to make a reservation!
