I visited Quebec City for a 2 week Culinary class and want to share some photos with you. I will post about what I cooked in another post and include some other photos as well. It was a travel culinary class through the University of British Columbia with Chef Eric Arrouzé. The travel culinary series changes every year. I believe this year it is a wine tour to France. We spent half a day cooking and the rest of the time site seeing and trying the different restaurants in the city.
Be sure to visit Old Quebec, Citadelle of Quebec, Chateau Frontenac, Notre Dame de Quebec, Fortifications of Quebe, Quartier Petit Champlain & Place Royale, Parliament Hill, the farmers markets, farms and food tours at Île d’Orléans and Charlevoix(most favourite part of the trip). Go see the Nouvelle France Festival ( FÊTES de la Nouvelle-France) if you are there during that time! It’s really fun watching the historical reenactments and seeing the costumes!
You need a car to get around to the farms in Île d’Orléans and Charlevoix. I recommend a food tour to try traditionally made beers, apple cidars, cheeses, fruits, chocolates, and organic meats. I went berry picking as well. The agrotourism tour is a stunning experience.
Look at all the fresh produce.
